NORTH HOUSE

Sited within a 26m x 13m residential plot in a growing semi urban town of Maharashtra, the house anchors itself with its north face opening onto a by-road.
The appropriate design course was to explore the advantages of the context, while articulating a transition from ‘a quiet public north’ to the private and active symbolic heart of the house towards south.
The challenge was to design a compact, comfortable home, accommodating the needs and aspirations of a young family while creating a dialogue between every floor intended to create an engaging experience between each member of the family as they reside with and within its conversing walls, regularly interconnected, interdependent and independent at a time.
