Bhishma-i
Inspired from an excerpt of the Mahabharta – a central text of the Hindu mythology, the Bhishma-i bench is a piece conceived from the visual of Bhishma resting on a bed of Arjuna's arrows.
The structure of the bench is based on the principle of a flat slab and column. Multiple arrows directly support the horizontal surface of the bench. The load of the flat surface and the user is taken care off by 54 slender wooden arrows; each sculpted from a single piece of wood.

Deviating from the traditional chaupai (the four post diwan), the Bhishmai is a salute to art and history!
